Jackie Chan

Jackie Chan has been a part o the Hollywood film industry since such a long time. When he was 8, he did his fist Hollywood movie and now Jackie Chan is 56 years old. It has been 48 years to his nonstop dedication and now, he stands as the superhero of the Hollywood film industry. Very few of us would now remember the first Hollywood hit delivered by Jackie Chan. He has been such an amazing actor and an acrobat that it is very difficult to remember the number of hit movies that he has delivered. In 5the year 1978, when Jackie Chan was 24 years old, he had his major breakthrough in the world of movies and acting with the Hollywood block buster, Snake I The Eagle’s Shadow. Jackie Chan at that time was under a contract with the Seasonal Film Corporation for two Hollywood movies and the director, Yuen Woo-ping gave him all the freedom he wanted to, do his own stunts and customize them as per his wish. In Hong Kong, the movie was a new change from the monotonous movie styles as it was an action movie along with comedy. This later came to be known as the signature style of Jackie Chan. Then Jackie Chan did the Hollywood movie, The Drunken Master that gave him the success he was dreaming of since ever. These were the two movies that got Jackie Chan to the top lists of the Hollywood film industry and he even got a large critic appraise, appreciation from the audience, fans, recognition and popularity.
Jackie Chan could see good things coming his way and was liking the new found popularity. With time, our very own Jackie Chan became the next Bruce Lee of the era and his inspiration was true, he proved this.

The Green Hornet comes out in January, a month riddled with notoriously bad movies, so of the two “Green” superheroes, we’re siding with Green Lantern. Seems like every time you have movies closely mirroring each other – even on the most simplistic level (in this case, superheroes and the color green) – you confuse people. Dante’s Peak vs. Volcano in 1997, Deep Impact vs Armageddon in 1998, Aladdin vs. Prince of Persia Sands of Time. The list goes on. Yes, the dedicated hoards of fanboys expressed their allegiances, but what about the sheep? Who’s more bad-ass: a dude who wears a ring (every fist begins with ‘F’?) to give him powers or the guy with the Asian sidekick? Lantern has a more conventional superhero blockbuster aesthetic with Ryan Reynolds and his superheroic physique combined with a summer release some six months after people hopefully (for Lantern) forget Hornet. With Reynolds also starring in Deadpool, which is rumored to release in 2011, will (simpler) audiences have trouble following? Seeing as Chris Evans can be the Human Torch and Captain America, I guess studios think they won’t. Many critics feel this shouldn’t be a movie.
