Robert Anthony Plant
Robert Anthony Plant, CBE (born 20 August 1948), is an English rock singer and songwriter, best known as the vocalist and lyricist of the rock band Led Zeppelin. He has also had a successful solo career. In 2007, Plant released Raising Sand, an album produced by T-Bone Burnett with American bluegrass soprano Alison Krauss, which won the 2009Grammy Award for Album of the Year Robert Plant and his Band of Joy have confirmed an appearance at this year’s Telluride Bluegrass Festival, according to Gibson.com. The former Led Zeppelin frontman joins an impressive lineup that includes Emmylou Harris, Bela Fleck, Sam Bush, the Decemberists and Jerry Douglas.
While speaking with Gibson, Planet Bluegrass’ Brian Eyster says the booking is “a huge deal. It’s going to be another great year.” |

With the show, Plant will continue the support of Band of Joy, an album that hit stores September 13. The LP is named after a group Plant fronted before Led Zeppelin. Plant’s new band includes Patty Griffin, Buddy Miller, Darrell Scott, Marco Giovino and Byron House..
